Stratford Police are searching for a suspect, after a Jeep Grand Cherokee was forced off the road yesterday morning.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police are searching for a suspect, as they investigate a collision on Erie Street.
Officers say the accident occurred just before 9am yesterday.
They believe a sedan forced a Jeep Grand Cherokee off the roadway, causing it to hit a tree and a hydro pole; inflicting $12,000 in damage in the process. The driver of the Jeep had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect car was light grey or silver and colour, and is believed to be a Buick or Ford Crown Victoria. Police have a partial license plate number of AXZ, but it is unclear whether those were the first or last digits.
A witness spoke with the driver of the sedan in the area of West Gore Street. He appeared to be confused before he took off and is being described as an elderly male, possibly in his 70's.
Anyone with information should contact Stratford Police 519-271-4143 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
