A report highlighting some of the issues with Walker Environmental's landfill proposal is now available online.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Joint Municipal Coordinating Committee has released a draft report about the proposed landfill.
The committee hired it's own scientists to look at some of the work done by Walker Environmental's scientists.
Chair Marcus Ryan says they noticed some major problems.
"On numerous occasions reviewers found instances where the assessment was either non-complaint with the terms of reference or did not follow the relevant work plan with no explanation or rationale provided for discrepancies. So that's a pretty large over-arching concern."
He adds the scientific review is not over yet.
"There is a lack of clarity in how the net environmental effects are determined in this environmental assessment and we've certainly made it clear that that needs to be addressed going forward regardless of how Walker decides to go forward."
You can read the draft report online here.
Ryan says it's a very science heavy report, but it does include a strong summery in the beginning that should be easy to follow for most people.
