Russell Jull files for re-election in Norwich Township.
NORWICH - A familiar face has been added to the ballot in Norwich Township.
Russell Jull has filed his papers for re-election and is looking for a third term representing North Norwich.
"We've got a lot on our plate right now and we'd just like to see it all come to fruition and we have enjoyed the work down there too. There's a lot of things that are coming down the pipe and we would like to be involved in that. Mainly the administration building, that's one main thing that we are dealing with and we're going to see it hopefully by the end of the year and there's more infrastructure that we are looking at there too."
Jull says being a farmer gives him a unique perspective on the issues.
"We look at it from an agricultural end of it, that we like to represent the agricultural people in the community and that we just want to make sure their voice is heard when it comes to dealing with the different issues that are effecting the whole township and to give it kind of an agricultural perspective on some of those issues."
Jull says taxes will continue to be a big issue for council going forward.
"The way the money is being not given to the municipalities from the province, they seem to be the ones who have to come up with the money and it can be kind of tough at times. That seems to be the biggest concern right now, plus roads. Roads is a big issue down in our area and we are still looking at trying to improve them on a yearly basis and it's a tough go."
Jull is the only person at this point to file papers for the position.
