The Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford set to host a kick off ceremony for their latest Relay for Life Campaign.
WOODSTOCK - Relay for Life season may be three months away, but the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford is getting ready to host a campaign kickoff ceremony in Woodstock.
Relay Committee Member Mark Shadenberg invites first time participants to the Quality Hotel and Suites Tuesday evening, in order to learn more about the fundraiser.
"We want some new faces and new people to show up and ask what is Relay for Life About? We know you are raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society and we've heard about luminary ceremonies, survivor laps and theme laps, but what exactly is it all about."
They're looking to raise $125,000 this year for cancer research and support.
Shadenberg says the doors will open at 5:30pm.
"We do plan a bit of a program around 6pm with a power point demonstration, a couple of speeches and explanations on things. There will be tables set up to learn more about purchasing luminaries and how you can volunteer."
Everything should wrap up at 7pm.
