The Community United Conversation on February 10th will shine a light on homeless encampments.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford is getting ready for its first Community United Conversation for 2025.
It's happening on Monday February 10th and Executive Director Kelly Gilson says it's going to be about homeless encampments.
"So we know that its a really topical issue. I think its something that people are very aware of and they want to know more. So we are bringing together folks in our community that can share more."
The virtual event is Zoom based and it will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. that evening. A panel of experts will discuss the issues and share local resources we have here in Oxford County. Gilson says there will also be a chance for the people at home to participate.
"We allow for up to 30 minutes of Q&A. So people who are online will have the opportunity to type into the chat box any questions they may have and we will try to field those questions well."
Those who are interested in tuning in can register Amanda Kreiger at amanda@unitedwayoxford.ca to register for free. A full video of the livestream will also be posted to the United Way Oxford website afterward.
Kelly Gilson stopped by the Heart FM studio with Amanda Cook from the Oxford Community Health Centre on Monday January 27th. You can listen to their full interview with Dan and Marcie below:
