It has been a great start to the Cross Country season for Katie Rice. She has won the first two events and looks to keep that pace heading into the last couple of races.
INGERSOLL - It is another blazing start to the running season for Ingersoll's Katie Rice.
She is on the Fanshawe Cross Country Team, and has been on top for the first two events of the season.
Rice speaks to the goal she has every race.
"Well, when I finish I make sure that I finish as hard as I can. I don't want to feel like I have any energy left when I cross the finish line, because then I feel like I haven't pushed myself hard enough."
She has been honoured for her strong start, receiving the OCAA Athlete of the Week from Sunday, October 1st to Saturday, October 7th. Her next race will be on Saturday, October 14th when she takes part in the Centennial Invitational.
Rice says there is still unfinished business this season.
"My finishing goal is to keep my OCAA title from last year. I would really like to get that two years in a row."
She will have the opportunity on October 28th as the OCAA Championships are in Cambridge hosted by Conestoga College.
