Mackenzie Pullen surpassed her goal this summer of raising $1,300 for her 13th birthday for the United Way Oxford Supplies for Students campaign.
WOODSTOCK - A 13 year old from Woodstock spent part of her summer raising funds for the United Way Oxford and the Supplies for Students program.
Mackenzie Pullen first started donating to United Way Oxford at her 5th birthday.
"We have been raising money for the past 6 years and this year our goal was to get to $1,300 for my 13th birthday, so I made essential oil bracelets and sold them with the proceeds going to Supplies for Students and then people have also been able to just directly donate to the United Way."
Mackenzie is going into Grade 8 at the Oxford School and says they were able to exceed their goal this year.
"Over the past 6 years, we have been collecting monetary donations and we have actually raised $3,234.20 and we actually got over our goal this year, raising $1,414."
She says the United Way Oxford was very excited and very grateful when they made the donation this year.
