SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO - The West Region OPP has released the results of Project Safe Haul, which targetted commercial motor vehicle safety across southwestern Ontario.
It was conducted between October 13th and November 1st and Sergeant Ed Sanchuk posted a video about it on the OPP West Region X page yesterday.
"During the initiative 325 commercial vehicle inspections were completed through 22 safety blitzes across the West Region. As a result, 119 unsafe vehicles were removed from service and 266 charges were laid."
He also took them time to thank all of the CMV operators that abide by the book.
"This campaign isn't just about enforcement. It's also about recognising the thousands of professional truck drivers and carriers who are doing the right thing each and every day. Most commercial drivers take pride in maintaining their vehicles, following the rules, and helping keep our highways safe."
