A South West Oxford resident has been presented with the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship.
SWOX - The Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship has been bestowed on a former South West Oxford Councillor.
George Klosler was nominated for the award by several local residents. Jim Pickard was among the people to put forth the nomination, and he says he had no problem finding support.
"We also had letters of support from the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, from the Salford Hall Board, from the Mayor, the MP, the MPP."
Pickard says Klosler has touched many lives during his time.
"He's belonged to many organizations over the years and has been a role model and a mentor for many people in the community. One of his accomplishments was the founding of the agricultural branch of Fanshawe College."
Klosler is known for his role as a professor in Farm Business Management, his involvement in the Oxford County Federation of Agriculture, and his leadership in adding a Rooftop Solar System at Salford Hall as a cost recovery mechanism for the local hall board.
