Dave MacKenzie has received several calls from constituents who are being targeted by the CRA scam.
The MP for Oxford County has been getting a lot phone calls, letters and emails from constituents who are being targeted by the aptly named Canada Revenue Agency Scam.
Dave MacKenzie has gotten so many of these messages, that he felt compelled to put out a warning. MacKenzie says new frauds are being created daily and the Government of Canada is very much aware of these Canada Revenue Agency scams.
“My constituents are receiving letters, emails and text messages from scammers claiming to be representatives of CRA. It is important that information about how to protect yourself and what to do if you think you have been scammed be easily accessible to every Canadian.”
MacKenzie says the CRA takes these issues very seriously and the scams continue to evolve.
“I want to encourage anyone to report fraudulent communications claiming to be from CRA directly to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre by calling toll-free: 1-888-495-8501.”
