Local police briefs include a shoplifter in Tillsonburg, an impaired driver in Bright and several license plate thefts in the City of Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Several license plates were stolen from parking lots on Norwich Ave and Ingersoll road over the weekend.
Police encourage the public to check their license plates regularly to ensure both of the correct plates are attached to the vehicle. It is common for license plates to be stolen or replaced with plates from a stolen vehicle.
Anyone with information on these thefts are asked to contact Woodstock Police or Crime Stoppers.

BRIGHT - A 37 year old from Bright has been charged with impaired driving.
Police first spotted the vehicle driving erratically on Oxford Road 22 on Sunday afternoon. When approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed a can being tossed outside the passenger window.
The driver failed a roadside test and was taken back to the detachment for further testing. They were also charged for having an open container of alcohol.

TILLSONBURG - Oxford OPP arrested a 39 year old for shoplifting in Tillsonburg.
Police say the person stole several items from a store on Broadway Street on Sunday afternoon.
