Justin Read is a local father, teacher, volunteer and candidate for Blandford Blenheim Council.
DRUMBO - A member of the Drumbo Lions Club is looking to make a difference on the municipal level.
Justin Read has lived his entire life in Blandford Blenheim Township; his first 27 years in Canning and the last 10 in Drumbo with his wife and three children.
He would like to become a voice for the people as a township councillor.
"In my current role as a SERT - basically a Special Education Resource Teacher - I act as a resource and advocate for children every day and I would like to bring the same drive and determination to the township."
There are lots of issues he would like to address if he is elected this fall.
"The Princeton wastewater concern, the conditions of our roads and bridges, ensuring the safety of our residents through firefighter allocation and speeding concerns. Those are all big issues that I want to continue to have productive dialog about and hopefully bring some resolve to."
Read's time with the Lions Club has showed him how a group of people can really spark change in a community. He says the importance of community and collaboration with others has inspired him to do his part to support the community in a larger capacity.
