Patrice Hilderley will be missed as she gets set to retire after a 45 year career with the City of Woodstock, most recently serving as the Director of Administrative Services.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Hall is getting ready to give a fond farewell to a long time employee.
Patrice Hilderley will retire at the end of October as the Director of Administrative Services. She worked at the City for 45 years. Hilderley started out her career with the City in 1975 and was promoted numerous times over that span. She served as the City Treasurer in 1991 and has continued in this capacity for the past 30 years and also served in the capacity of Acting Chief Administrative Officer on many occasions.
Hilderley is looking forward to retirement but will miss her friends at City Hall.
“For over 45 years, my work in municipal government has been interesting and fulfilling. I want to thank City Council and staff for all the opportunities and support that I have received during this time. We have had many challenges to face & successes to celebrate. I am proud to be part of such a talented and committed team.”
Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch wanted to congratulate Hilderley on a great career with the City.
“I want to commend Patrice on her passion and dedication and acknowledge her significant contribution to both the Corporation and the City. Patrice presented 30 balanced budgets and helped many City Councils and individual Councillors through the complexities of municipal finance. For many years, Patrice also supported the community through volunteer service on various local Boards including Woodstock Hospital Board of Trust, VON Oxford, Oxford Community Foundation and Woodstock and District Development Services."
Birtch says that Hilderley will be missed.
"On behalf of City Council, I want to express our thanks to Mrs. Hilderley and extend best wishes for a healthy and happy retirement for many years ahead."
Woodstock CAO David Creery wanted to offer up a few words as well.
“Patrice’s leadership and dedication are a primary reason for the City maintaining its financial strength and stability during her tenure as City Treasurer. Always ready to lend assistance, answer a question or give advice, she will be missed by the entire senior management team, he says.”
The search for her replacement has already started.
