Woodstock Police have charged 24 year old man with dangerous driving, impaired driving, failing to stop a the scene of an accident and resisting arrest.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police have charged a 24 year old man with numerous offenses after an incident that originated on Walter Street.
Officers were called to a residence shortly before midnight on Sunday September 3rd. They say the 24 year old had assaulted another man, causing him to lose consciousness. The 24 year old then hopped in a red Honda and tried to run the other man over but instead hit a house. He then fled to Southside Park.
Police say they later spotted the vehicle leaving the park on Wellington Street. They tried to stop the vehicle but the driver had driven over a curb in an attempt to escape.
Officers were able to eventually stop the vehicle. When they tried to take the key out of the ignition they say the man rolled up the car window and tried to grab the keys.
James Sanderson has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. He is also facing charges under the highway traffic act.
