The Toronto Maple Leafs are searching for a new head coach after Craig Berube was fired.
TORONTO - There will be a new head coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs once the 2026-27 season begins.
New general manager John Chayka and senior executive advisor Mats Sundin made the decision today, two weeks after being hired to their roles. The search is beginning to find their next head coach, and Chayka says the rest of the coaching staff will be determined based on who is hired to be the head coach. Chayka is expected to speak with the media today at 12:30 p.m. regarding the decision to fire Berube.
Berube had two years left on his contract.
