Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch encourages residents to get outside and follow the guidelines as we battle the third wave of COVID-19.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch has put forth the following message to residents as we deal with the third wave of COVID-19:
THE BATTLE CONTINUES
Wash your hands, keep your distance, limit in person interactions with others unless absolutely necessary, and remember to exercise regularly and get plenty of fresh air and sunshine….advice that needs to be heeded even more if we are to get through this.
We are all tired. It has been the longest 13 months in our lives and we need to hang on just a little bit longer. We will come out of this.
The pandemic has led to a number of other social problems, addiction, mental health issues and homelessness. City council and staff, County council and staff, and our local agencies and partners are doing our best to deal with these situations with the resources and framework we have. We need to realize that work on these issues began prior to the pandemic, and will continue once we are clear of Covid-19.
Despite everything that has gone on, Woodstock continues to boom. Our real estate market cannot keep up with the demand for housing, but we need housing that is affordable so that is why we are working with local builders and the County to come up with innovative solutions.
The citizens of Woodstock have been outstanding throughout this ordeal. As a city council, we ask that you hang in a little longer. Life will get back to some sense of normal, although it will not be the same as it was 13 months ago.
We ask that you continue with your caring and kindness. It makes a bigger difference than you will ever realize.
Thank you,
Trevor Birtch
