One was a 53-year-old and the other was 7-years-old. They were both from Norfolk County.
NORFOLK - The Canadian Coast Guard has recovered the bodies of two overdue boaters from Lake Erie.
Emergency crews were called out to Townline Street in St. Williams at around 3:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon. A passing boater spotted the bodies about two nautical miles from shore.
In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page, Sergeant Ed Sanchuk said both of the boaters were local with one being a 53-year-old adult and the other being a 7-year-old child.
"I just want to take this opportunity to send out our deepest and sincerest condolences to all of the family members and friends that are affected by this tragedy. As a father, I can't even imagine what you are going through, and each and every one of you are in our thoughts."
The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time.
