It will assist with industrial accidents, wildfires and hazardous materials response.
OXFORD - Oxford County has added a mobile decontamination trailer to enhance emergency preparedness.
The trailer has been acquired with help from provincial funding through the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry under the Legacy Oil and Gas Wells Action Plan. The goal is to reduce the risks associated with inactive and aging oil and gas wells.
The unit can be deployed quickly if faced with a hazardous materials incident and can remove harmful substances from equipment and even members of the public.
Oxford County was among nine municipalities that received funding through the initiative.
