Incumbent Stephen Molnar will stay on as Mayor for the Town of Tillsonburg.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg has spoken and they are happy with the job Stephen Molnar has been doing.
Molnar was re-elected last night, beating out challenger Mark Renaud by over 1,000 votes. Molnar says is appreciative of the support from the community.
"It's a continuation of a journey, it started with the support of family, friends and people throughout the community and ultimately listening, that's one of the great things about a campaign is to actually listen to ideas, concerns and questions at doors, around the community and at various public forums."
Molnar adds that he is excited about the next 4 years.
"We will look to enhance the public engagement that we have reached out to do throughout the community, ensuring again, this community and the legacy of Tillsonburg and what really makes it unique across the province of Ontario is that the foundation of Tillsonburg is from our people and we will continue along that line. We have strong leadership, an educated council that is prepared to their work ahead of council meetings, we have an excellent senior leadership and management team right across the community, working in conjunction with our residents and stakeholders. That is the formula that we will continue to try to enhance every day to the benefit of our constituents."
Joining Molnar on Town Council is Dave Beres, Penny Esseltine, Deb Gilvesy, Peter Luciani, Chris Parker and Chris Rosehart.
