A 55-year-old man from Perth County is now facing sexual assault charges that date back decades. It was back in November when police made a public plea asking to speak to anyone having had interactions with Thomas Chalmers. He had been charged at that time with child luring and sexual exploitation, amongst other charges. Police say as a result of the plea, another alleged victim has come forward, and charges have been laid that stem from an incident that happened back in 1979 in St. Mary's. Chalmers has been charged with Rape, Sexual Intercourse with a female between fourteen and sixteen years of age, and Indecent Assault on a Female. He'll be back in a Stratford courtroom on April 16th.
