Central Public School is expected to remain closed until after Spring Break and only those who have been identified as a close contact will be required to quarantine.
WOODSTOCK - Central Public School remains closed after a case of COVID-19 that was confirmed on Wednesday.
The school will be closed until after the Spring Break scheduled for April 12th. This date could change if more positive cases are announced. Southwestern Public Health did not declare an outbreak and the decision to close the school was made the school board.
The closure was caused after a high number of students and staff at Central Public School are required to quarantine. However not every student is required to quarantine. SWPH is working with the school with case and contact management. They're also supporting with any infection prevention and control guidance they may need at this time.
Meanwhile every child is being told today by the School Board to bring home all of their belongings ahead of the Easter Long Weekend as a precaution, in case schools do shift back to remote learning.
Premier Doug Ford is expected to make an announcement today.
