If the Woodstock Navy Vets want to make it to the PJHL Doherty Division finals, they are going to have to beat every team from Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets are set for another Oxford County Showdown.
They will take on the Tavistock Braves in the PJHL Doherty Division Semi Finals. Navy Vets Assistant Coach Darren Young says they are ready for the challenge.
"We know they are good team but we played them well all year, we kind of had their number in the regular season but saying that we know the playoffs is a new season and we know we are going to have to play really well to beat them."
Tavistock earned their place in the semi finals with a first round win over New Hamburg, while the Navy Vets had to beat Norwich to advance to the Semi Finals. Young says this series will be a showcase of some really good hockey and they are not taking their opponent lightly.
"It should be a good series, they have good players, they are coached well, they have beat everyone else in the league so obviously they are a good team, it's going to be a challenge but if we play our game, stick to what we do best, I think we will have success."
A full schedule has not been released as of yet, but Young has been told the series will start Tuesday night in Tavistock.
