Anyone looking to join the Oxford NDP Association is invited to their Annual General Meeting to learn about becoming a member.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford NDP Association is having their annual General Meeting on Thursday.
Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Unifor Local 636 Hall in Woodstock. Local NDP Chair Tara King explains the benefits of purchasing an NDP membership.
"Your NDP membership here in Oxford allows you to nominate our candidate for the 2019 Federal election, as well as any elections afterwards. It also allows to run and vote for the executive positions in our riding at the Annual General Meeting."
King says it does not cost a lot of money to buy a membership.
"You have an option, so for students and people with financial needs, you can purchase a membership for $5 and for anyone else, you can purchase a membership for $25."
King says they will also elect the regional delegates from Oxford who will go to the Ontario NDP Convention in June. Former members may renew at registration and vote at the meeting. Minimum age for youth member is 13 years old.
