New Committee Helping United Way Oxford

There will be a gala event in Woodstock to raise money for United Way Oxford, and it is hosted by the Great Give.

OXFORD COUNTY - A casino royale-themed gala is coming to Woodstock.

The Great Give committee is a new group of community-minded individuals united by sharing a passion for helping others and supporting local charities through meaningful, high-impact events. They are looking to raise funds for United Way Oxford, and they will be hosting the event on May 23rd at the Oxford Auditorium.

Great Give Co-Chair, Cassandra Benard, says why this group was formed.

"Our vision for this committee is to create a collaborative, community-minded group that reimagines what fundraising can look like in Oxford County. We want The Great Give to be known not just as a committee, but as a collective of people, sponsors, and supporters who believe in strengthening our community. We want everyone, no matter their relation to this committee, to feel the impact they’re helping to create and see how their involvement truly makes a difference."

Another Great Give Co-Chair, Melissa MacLean, explains why United Way Oxford is being supported.

"United Way Oxford’s impact touches every corner of our community, supporting local families, strengthening mental health initiatives and providing essential resources where they are needed most. Choosing to support them was an easy and natural decision."

Resource Development Manager for United Way Oxford, Amanda Kreiger, speaks to the excitement the organization feels when it comes to being a part of this event.

"We are always so amazed by the ways our community choose to show up for us and each other. We are thankful for this opportunity to partner with The Great Give, and look forward to seeing how they grow and support our community in the future."
