Oxford County has released a new, more modern logo
OXFORD COUNTY - The idea of refreshing Oxford County's logo came up last fall. Now, less that a year later, a newer, more modern logo has been designed and the community will be seeing it appear on any new signs and products.
It will be a gradual change, slowly phasing out the old logo.
Oxford County CAO Peter Crockett says the environmental concerns were a top priority.
"We did it from a zero waste perspective, we are not taking down the old one, we are basically changing the logo as the material that it is on changes."
Crockett adds that the logo being phased out has been in place since the early 2000's.
In keeping with zero waste, the county will also not be wasting any money. The only costs associated were in the design of the logo.
The international recognition the county has been receiving for various projects is another reason for the refresh says Crockett.
"The addition of the maple leaf brings a global feel to the logo and we have been getting a lot of praise lately for various initiatives."
Anything electronic will change immediately, otherwise the phase out will happen gradually on any physical materials.
