Southside Public School underwent renovations and they invited the community to see the new space at open house this past Tuesday.
WOODSTOCK - Southside Public School in Woodstock hosted an open house on Tuesday to celebrate the school's newly-renovated facility.
The school unveiled their renovated facility yesterday during an open house, which saw a variety of members in the community in attendance.
Southside Public School principal Karen Langford says the event had a great turnout.
"We had the entire school population. We had local dignitaries, we had board personnel and parents, other community partners, and it was truly a celebration."
The project cost more than $7 million dollars and it includes 6 additional classrooms, a music room and a 3200 square-foot gymnasium.
Langford says students couldn't be happier with the new space.
"Students are so excited and they're so proud of their new space. It supports a much better learning environment for all the children and working environment for the staff."
