New Manufacturing Facility Comes to the Friendly City

Soprema has selected Woodstock as the site for their newest manufacturing facility.

WOODSTOCK - A company founded in France will be setting down roots in Woodstock, bringing more jobs to the Friendly City.

Soprema manufactures waterproofing, insulation, soundproofing, and vegetated solutions for the roofing, building envelope, and civil engineering sectors. Their newest location will pop up along CommerceWay Business Park according to Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch.

"When I talk to developers and site selectors and they have experiences in other municipalities, they are amazed with how quickly Oxford County can make things happen."

Location was a prime concern when making the decision according to Vice President and CEO of Soprema North America Richard Voyer. “We are really proud to be building a new facility in Ontario. We already have two sales offices in Ontario, but the new plant will allow us to serve our customers better thanks to the outstanding location at the intersection of NAFTA Super Highways 401 and 403, providing great access to customers and labour.”

Further announcements will trickle out as the ball starts rolling at the build site.

Woodstock Development Commissioner Len Magyar looks forward to future developments. “It has been a true pleasure to work with the staff from SOPREMA over the past 17 months, as their level of professionalism and care is a true reflection of the quality of this company. We wish SOPREMA the greatest success in Woodstock and look forward with excitement as we watch the company continue to grow.”

Soprema Canada employs around 500 people at seven manufacturing facilities and ten support offices.
