Zorra Township Council could have a new face in the fall.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - A Thamesford woman has put her name in the running for a Zorra Township council seat.
Katie Davies has been a resident of Thamesford for ten years.
She says that she loved the town immediately.
"we were looking for a place to raise a family and Thamesford looking like the perfect fit. Over the last ten years I've found myself very drawn to Thamesford and finding ways to volunteer and serve my community."
Her community involvement including being part of the Calithumpian Committee.
She also created a facebook group called "What's Up Thamesford".
The group of over 1000 shares what is going on in the town.
Davies says that because she is new, she did research before running for council.
"I've been attending council meetings regularly leading up to right now, moving forward. Just to really understand how policy is formed, how these meetings run, the types of things that council will address."
Voters will see her name on their ballots for the upcoming municipal election on October 22nd.
