New splash pads have officially opened in Cowan Field and Van Ave.
WOODSTOCK - The brand new splash pad at Cowan Field is officially open for the summer.
It opened to the public on Thursday just in time for the Mid July heat. Supervisor of Aquatic and Recreation Programs with the City of Woodstock Patrick King tells Heart FM they wanted to have it opened sooner.
"Our goal is to have it open as soon as we possibly could, with the weather in April and May, it made it very difficult for the contractor to complete, the contractor worked very hard to get it open as soon as we possibly could.
King says the repairs are also done at the Van Ave splash pad and both are open to the public free of charge from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day this summer.
"We are hoping everyone will go out and give them a try, both of them are new in the sense that the Vansittart Ave one is a redevelopment of the old pad that was their and Cowan Field is a brand new one."
