Has the LCBO strike affected your day-to-day life?
ONTARIO - It has been almost a week since unionized workers with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) went on strike.
The job action began on Friday July 5th, closing LCBO stores in Oxford County and across the rest of the province. If a deal is not reached by July 19th, the LCBO says a handful of retail stores will reopen three days a week (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) with limited hours.
Online sales have continued throughout the job action.
Negotiations have stalled between the LCBO and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). The Ford Government's plan to sell ready-to-drink cocktails in convenience and grocery stores appears to be a sticking point in the discussions, with Premier Doug Ford saying it's "off the table."
