A vehicle slammed into the back of a school bus with five students on board in Tillsonburg.
TILLSONBURG - Nobody was injured after a crash involving a vehicle and school bus with five children on board.
The collision happened at a railway crossing yesterday afternoon on Fourth Street. Police say the bus was stopped at the crossing when the vehicle slammed into the rear. Constable Lisa Narancsik tells Heart FM the incident does serve as a reminder to be watchful of school busses.
"We always have to be aware of the school busses, because they do make frequent stops, they stop to pick kids up, they stop to drop them off and they also come to a complete stop before they come to a railway crossing, which is what happened in this case."
The bus did not sustain serious damage and it was able to transport the students home safely. Oxford County Fire and EMS attended the scene as a precaution. The 68 year old driver of the vehicle was charged under the highway traffic act.
