Tim Thompson would like to bring his accounting and business experience to Norwich Township Council.
NORWICH - A well known accountant in Norwich has decided to run for the Ward 2 council seat.
Tim Thompson has been a chartered accountant since 1987 and he has been self-employed since 1992. He thinks his experience would be a great asset in council chambers.
"I want to focus on using my abilities and fiscal responsibility for the township. With my accounting and business experience, I feel like I have lots to give to council and my skills will compliment other councillors that are on there."
Thompson says he wants to make a difference in his community and its the right time to do it.
"I have some extra time available. My work demands have reduced a bit and I'm still working relatively full time, but I feel like I have give back to the community using my experience that I have obtained by running an accounting practice advising small businesses and farms."
Thompson has also been involved in lots of local groups over the years including the local Optimist Club of Norwich & District, the Norwich Chamber of Commerce, the Norwich-Springford-Tillsonburg Trail Committee, the Oxford County Trails Council, the Norwich Legion, Norwich Minor Ball, Norwich Minor Hockey, and Norwich Minor Soccer.
