Multiple vehicles were targeted and items were stolen in Norwich.
NORWICH - A reminder from Oxford OPP to lock it or lose it.
Norwich was the latest area to have multiple vehicles targeted. Community Safety and Media Relations Officer, Randi Crawford with the details.
"Yesterday, in the early hours around 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. in Norwich, in the newer and the older residential areas there were vehicles entered and multiple items were reported stolen from inside the vehicles."
Crawford says wallets, loose change, and sunglasses were the most common items taken from the vehicles. She mentions making sure valuables are out of your vehicle, and that it is locked to help prevent possible thefts. She mentions that the CamSafe program could play a role in finding the suspect or suspects.
"For example in Norwich, we could have an accessive database to see who had cameras in that area. Then what we could do is call those people and say can you look on your camera between these hours and see if you have anything on your footage."
Crawford mentions it takes a few minutes to register your cameras, and they can be anything from a doorbell camera, to a full security camera system.
