Norwich TNT Pull Roars into Norwich Township

The Norwich TNT Pull will get underway at 6:00 p.m. tonight with members of the OTTPA hitting the track. The local farm trucks and tractors will pull tomorrow morning starting at 10:00 a.m.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - The Norwich TNT Pull is back for another year!

It's happening today and tomorrow, on the corner of Highway 59 and Evergreen Street in Norwich Township.

Social Media and Sponsorship Coordinator Dave Nash says they will have local trucks and tractors in addition to some pullers from the Ontario Truck and Tractor Pull Association.

"The professional pullers will be there on Friday night. Saturday morning between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. will be your local guys with off the street diesel trucks, dually trucks, as well as your farm tractors. Between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. the track will be shutdown so they can prep it for the professional guys and they will be running again at 6:00 p.m."

The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. tonight and 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, with the pulling scheduled to begin an hour later on both days.

In addition to the pulling action, the event will have a Kids Zone and the Hen House artisan market tomorrow from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. They will also have a food booth and a 19-plus beer garden on-site for both days.

There will be a free shuttle service on-site for this evening to make sure everyone gets home safely. The bus will leave at 11:00 p.m., 12:00 a.m., and 1:00 a.m. with scheduled stops in Norwich, Burgessville, Otterville, and the Holiday Inn Express in Woodstock.

Tickets for the event cost $20 per day for an adult or $30 if they want to purchase a weekend pass. The price drops to $5 per day for kids between the ages of 5 and 12 ($10 for the weekend pass) while kids under 5 will get in for free.

Nash says all of the money raised will support the Optimist Club of Norwich and District.

"We support any youth program in the community from baseball to swimming, and minor hockey. We recently committed some money towards some dugouts for the Norwich baseball diamond and increased the audio system in the arena. We also host different community events including Easter egg hunts and Halloween haunts to keep youth busy in the area, keep them involved, and give them a better place to live."

The Norwich TNT Pull is the largest fundraiser for the club, bringing in over $40,000 last year.

You can find more information on the Norwich TNT Pull website, Facebook page, and Instagram page.

Nash also stopped by the studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Monday August 14th and you can listen to the full interview below:
