A total of 2,571 Novemburgers were sold in Oxford County last month.
OXFORD COUNTY - A first-time campaign for United Way Oxford was a huge success.
Novemburger took place with 11 restaurants around the County coming up with a special burger to sell during the month of November. Resource Development Coordinator, Megan Porter explains how the campaign worked.
"We had a team of ambassadors going out into the community to try each of our platinum restaurant's burgers. All of those 11 restaurants together managed to sell 2,571 burgers."
Porter mentioned there were special award categories, which made a bit of a competition. There was the People's Choice Awards, Most Novemburgers Sold, and the Top Novemburger of the Year. In the People's Choice category, Brickhouse Brew Pub in Woodstock, The Mill in Tillsonburg and Louie's Pizza and Pasta in Ingersoll walked away with honours. The Charles Dickens Pub took home the Most Novemburgers Sold, and The Mill also grabbed the Top Novemburger prize.
Porter says the total amount raised surpassed what they expected.
"Through sponsorship, through participation, and through unique Novemburger sales we have raised in Oxford County over $16,000."
Porter says the money will support all of the 13 organizations and 43 programs they support this year.
