The Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association is inviting everyone out to its 6th annual family barbeque.

WOODSTOCK - It has been six years since the Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association (OCCA) was first established.

It will be hosting its annual family barbeque at the Pittock Conservation Area tomorrow and Donna Cattle says it's something they are really proud of.

"We get an opportunity to really show Oxford County who we are and that days is filled with a lot of fun activities! OCCA is a Caribbean community organization and our goal is to support the community, tell you who we are, and create community events along the way."

They will have lots of delicious food with barbeque chicken corn, rice, and soup. Cattle says they will have three types of soup (chicken, beef and vegetarian) and the dumplings are the best part.

There will be lots of fun games for the whole family to enjoy including soccer, and egg and spoon races. They will also have several tables set up with dominoes, and Cattle says they can get pretty competitive.

"It's a wonderful part of who we are and we want to bring that to our neighbours outside of the Caribbean! So on Saturday, we will have a dedicated table set up to teach out neighbours how to play dominoes because we want to bring this to you!"

The free event is from 2:00 p.m. and to 7:00 p.m. and everyone is asked to bring their friends, their family and their lawn chairs.

You can find more information about the OCCA and its upcoming events online here.
