Officers Accepting Applications For Youth In Policing Program

Members of the Woodstock Police Service are now accepting applications for the 2016 Youth in Policing Program.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are accepting applications for the 2016 Youth in Policing Program.

The 8 week program runs from July 4th to August 26th. Students will get a chance to engage with police and get an idea of what it would take to have a career in police.

To qualify for the program, you must be between the ages of 15 and 18,  returning to a Woodstock high school in September and willing to work with officers at community events.

They are also looking for youth at risk.

"Youth at risk" can be defined as young people whose background places them "at risk" of future offending or victimization due to environmental, social and family conditions that hinder their personal development and successful integration into the economy and society.

Applications can be found on the Woodstock Police website.  Deadline is June 10, 2016.
