Woodstock Minor Hockey is hoping for a packed house for the OHF Opening Ceremonies tonight.
Woodstock Minor Hockey is hoping for a packed house tonight at the opening ceremonies for the Major Atom Single A Alliance Championships or OHF's.
Opening ceremonies is happening this Friday night at 7 pm at the Community Complex and the Woodstock team will be playing right after the ceremonies. President of Woodstock Minor Hockey Michael Collins tells Heart FM they have lowered the prices tonight in hopes of getting a packed house for the kids.
"So tonight with the Atoms playing in their home game right after the opening ceremonies, we are offering kids that are wearing jerseys to come in for free and we have cut the cost in half for parents to come in and watch the game to $5 to come in and watch the OHF's.
Collins says it would be really cool for the kids to play in front of a packed house at such a crucial tournament.
"You want to fill the stands as much as possible, the OHF is a big deal and the more support you get out there will make the kids feel great. It's a great weekend for all teams involved but you just want to show the support for Woodstock, come out and cheer them on."
The tournament will run all weekend and the finals will take place on Sunday.
The Peewee Double A team from Woodstock are also playing in their own OHF tournament this weekend in Oakville and they won their first game this morning.
