OHL Suspends Knights Player Mailloux Indefinitely

London Knights D-man and Montreal Canadians first round pick Logan Mailloux has been suspended indefinitely by the OHL after sharing sexual photos of a women without her consent.

The Ontario Hockey League is suspending London Knights player Logan Mailloux indefinitely.

Commissioner David Branch made the announcement today. Mailloux will be able to apply for reinstatement on January 1, 2022. The suspension is because Mailloux shared sexual photos of a woman without her consent while he was playing in Sweden in November of 2020. He was on loan to SK Lejon when the incident happened.

Mailloux is also a first round pick for the Montreal Canadiens. The pick caused a major controversy in the hockey world, with many people voicing their displeasure for the Canadiens to make that pick. Mailloux himself had asked not to be drafted, saying he needed more time to mature. Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, a life long Habs fan even weighed in by expressing his disappointment in the franchise for their draft choice.

In a release the OHL did not indicate when Mailloux will be eligible to play again.

"A decision regarding reinstatement will be based in part on his conduct since his return to Canada and the appropriate treatment, counselling, mentoring and or education he receives from the date of this decision."
