An event is coming to Woodstock, which raises money for DASO and also promotes working out.
WOODSTOCK - A fundraiser for DASO is entering its 9th year.
The 12 Workouts of Christmas will be hosting a 1 day event tomorrow at the CASS Football field and track. Co-organizer, Nate Picknell says what you can expect to endure throughout the day.
"We're doing 12 workouts in one day. It's a community fitness fundraiser for DASO, so all the money raised goes to DASO. Two of the workouts will be yoga, and then the other 10 will have various equipment and exercises and stuff that we're doing."
Picknell adds why a summer event is taking place.
"And so next year is our 10-year anniversary of the event. So, the goal for next year is to raise $10,000 in one year. So, we're going to try and split that between two different events, one in the summer and one in the winter. So that's why we're doing the summer one this year, just kind of a trial run."
Picknell says if you want to take part in the event just show up, and you can donate by bringing cash, cheque, or by sending an e-transfer directly to DASO. The event will get underway a 8 a.m. and run until 4 p.m.
