Today Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and District are asking you to give wherever you may be.
Today is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and District Day of Giving.
They are asking people to help out by donating money, sharing their message online, or even better signing up to become a mentor. The goal is to raise some money and awareness for the not for profit organization that has impacted so many children in our community. Resource Coordinator Heather Breckleman tells Heart FM why they wanted to do an online fundraiser.
"We wanted to give people a way to participate without actually having to come to an event because sometimes that can be a barrier. Other times we reach people that we normally wouldn't have otherwise heard from or have been able to engage."
All of the money raised goes towards supporting programs offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters in the district.
"This money will go towards things like the child safety training that goes on or the match support and the screening, which is very important to the parents and the members of the community because we want to make sure that the child is matched with somebody that is going to be a positive and safe role model for your child."
