Anyone who got AstraZeneca as their first dose, can now book a second dose after 8 weeks with informed consent.
Prior to the announcement, the Province required a 12 week interval for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The Province maintains that waiting 12 weeks for a second dose will provide you with better protection. They are accelerating the timeline because of concerns with the Delta virus. Ontario's top doctors still recommend waiting the 12 weeks, however you can now book after 8 with informed consent.
Anyone who got AstraZeneca can book their second dose as AstraZeneca or choose an mRNA vaccine.
