The province of Ontario is being extra vigilant in the fight against Covid-19 and has extended the emergency orders for two more weeks.

ONTARIO - While some provinces are easing restrictions imposed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Ontario announced this morning that it is extending its emergency orders for two more weeks until June 9th.

In a release this morning, Premier Doug Ford says the extension is necessary to keep people safe.

"We are extending these emergency orders to protect the health and safety of all individuals and families as we begin to gradually and safely reopen our province," said Premier Doug Ford. "To build on the progress we have made to contain COVID-19, people should continue to follow these simple public health guidelines, practice physical distancing, wear a mask when it is a challenge to physical distance, and wash their hands regularly. If you think you have COVID-19 or may have been exposed to the virus, go to an assessment centre and get tested. Please stay safe."

This means kids who have been itching to go on playground equipment will have to wait a while longer.  Swimming pools will remain closed, bars and restaurants are limited to take-out and delivery and gatherings are capped at five people still.
