If your in the giving mood this weekend, Operations Sharing's Christmas Place is looking for help before their opening day.
WOODSTOCK - Christmas Place for Operation Sharing are still collecting donations as the opening is Tuesday.
With the pressure on to fill up their space, Operation Sharing need the community to come together and help people who might be going through a hard time make this Christmas special. They are in need of donations for new toys for ages 10-12 for boys and girls, dad's and mothers's gifts. And how the shopping process works is each parent will spend $4 per child but leave with $40 to $60 worth of toys. The kids also have a chance to come in with their grandparents or care givers and can shop for presents for mom and dad.
Director of Christmas Place, Kathy Gardiner has more on how you can donate.
"We can have some shoppers out looking for things that we're short on. Also through Operation Sharing they can mail in a donation and we do have some boxes throughout the community at some of the stores."
Gardiner also said that her numbers need to raise before the opening day.
"It's starting to pick up a little bit, but we are getting a little anxious because we open on Tuesday. Even if I only see the numbers we had from last year I think we're still far behind."
The Christmas Place are accepting donations till December, 8th and the grand opening is Tuesday December, 4th at 9:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. Donations can be dropped if at the Children's Aid Society, the Collage Ave United Church or Operation Sharing. For shopping invitations you can pick them up at any church in Oxford County.
