Oxford OPP run down incidents they faced over the weekend
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford OPP were kept busy over the weekend with several break and enters along with a speeder and vandals.
Officers are investigating after a pair of all-terrain vehicles were stolen from a trail in the area of the 25th and 27th Line between Road 88 and Road 92. According to OPP the owners left the machines beside the trails as they went to get more fuel but when the returned the ATVs were missing.
The stolen vehicles are said to be
2011 Arctic Cat – 4 wheel ATV, Brown Licence # 28XV6
2012 Arctic Cat – 4 Wheel ATV, Black, Licence # 65ZL3
OPP were also called Saturday to a Hanmer Line address in Norwich Township following a report of items taken from a shed. The theft is said to have happened between July 1 and 12 when unknown suspects allegedly entered the shed and took $750 worth of good including an ECHO – gas leaf blower, STIHL – orange chainsaw and DEWALT – yellow battery operated hand drill.
OPP were called to another Norwich Township home Saturday, this time on Quaker Street where $1000 in goods, including a Samsung Galaxy tablet, Apple iPod,
HP digital camcorder and $110.00 Canadian currency was taken.
Thieves also hit up a residence on Oxford Road 3 in Blandford Blenheim Township on Friday. Unknown suspects entered the residence by climbing through an unlocked window. Three pieces of heirloom gold ladies jewellery was taken. Value is unknown for the items taken.
OPP were also called out to Zorra Township after four mailboxes were damaged on the 37th Line between Road 92 and Road 96 late Saturday or early Sunday.
OPP also nabbed a driver they say was driving 136 kilometres an hour in a posted 80km zone down Highway 59 in Norwich Saturday evening. As a result, 31 year old Adrien Scholten of Otterville has been charged with stunt driving and had his vehicle impounded and his licence suspended.
