Police seized hundreds of illegal marijuana plants along with hundreds of pounds of pre packaged cannabis Thursday in another massive drug bust.
NORFOLK COUNTY - The Haldimand Norfolk Street Crime Unit and the Oxford Brant Street Crime Unit teamed up to take down a massive illegal grow operation in Norfolk County.
Police executed a search warrant on Concession 7 after following up on numerous community complaints. Constable Ed Sanchuk says they charged 3 people.
"Officers have seized hundreds of cannabis plants, along with hundreds of pounds of pre packaged cannabis that is getting ready for distribution."
Sanchuk says organized crime is firmly entrenched in the production, distribution, and sale of illegal cannabis.
"These criminals continue to exploit the health Canada medical cannabis, personal production regime by diverting the cannabis to the illegal market. From concerns regarding public safety and environmental contamination to human trafficking, the impacts of these large scale criminal cannabis production sites have on our community cannot be understated."
This is the fourth massive illegal grow operation that has been busted in our region over the past month.
