The Oxford Community Foundation distributed $211,043 worth of grants to 40 local charities last year.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford Community Foundation was able to host it's very first in-person Annual General Meeting since COVID began.
About 60 people attended the meeting on Wednesday, June 8th to listen to the foundation highlight all of the grants that were distributed last year.
Executive Director Louise Wardrop says the foundation distributed $211,043 worth of grants in 2021 with 40 local charities reaping the benefit.
“OCF is grateful to be working with generous donors and community partners. Together, we are helping to address difficult and complex problems and helping to make opportunities available for more people.”
The Children's Aid Society was one of the local charities that received funding from the OCF in 2021. It was able to award six bursaries for post secondary students and purchase 34 chromebooks for children in need.
Meanwhile, the Tillsonburg Multi Service Centre put it's grant towards volunteer development. The Oxford County Trails Council was also able to fund several projects including the construction of a bridge, the installation of some park benches and improvements to several parking lots.
