An online baking auction will be raising funds for the Oxford County Animal Rescue this weekend, ahead of National Pet Adoption Week next week.
WOODSTOCK - An online baking auction is about to get underway with all of the proceeds going to the Oxford County Animal Rescue.
Marshall McConnell will be hosting Brayden's Birthday Baking Auction this weekend in memory of her son.
Anna Holmes is the Rescue Director and Foster Coordinator for the local Animal Rescue. She says there will be lots of delicious baked goods up for grabs.
"Marsha does an amazing amount of squares, cookies, loaves, and tarts. So I baked a couple of pecan pies, there are some peanut butter brownies and some maple brown sugar fudge. There are lots of really great things!"
The bidding opens at around 7:00 a.m. this morning and it will close this Sunday at 12:00 p.m. You can find more information and place your bids online here. Last year's auction raised $2,300 for the non-profit organization.
The Oxford County Animal Rescue is getting also ready for National Pet Adoption Week.
It will officially begin on Monday March 6th and Holmes says they will be at the Woodstock PetSmart next weekend.
"We will be a PetSmart on Saturday March 11th and Sunday March 12th. We've got mostly adult cats that are available because it is the beginning and we're just starting to see our pregnant mother cats come in."
The rescue currently has three cats up for adoption on its website and you can view them online here.
Holmes called the Heart FM studio on Wednesday March 1th for her monthly chat with Dan and Marcie. You can listen to the full interview below:
