The Executive Director of the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County has written an open letter to Norwich Township Council.
OXFORD/NORWICH - The Executive Director of the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County is encouraging Norwich Township Council to reconsider its recent decisions regarding Pride Month.
In an open letter to Council, Tina Diamond says she's concerned about the decision to only mandate government flags on municipal property and to not declare June as Pride Month. She says this will lead to exclusion, a lack of safety, and promote a culture of tolerance for hate and discrimination in the Township.
Diamond says Children's Aid supports youth and families all throughout Oxford including those within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
You can read Diamond's full letter to Norwich Township Council in the Facebook post below.
The Children's Aid Society is not the only local organization speaking out against the recent decisions in Norwich Township. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County has also spoken out against the matter and also offered to return the grant funding it has received from the Township.
