OXFORD COUNTY - Today is the day when local organizations make their pitch for grant monies from Oxford County council.
Council will hear from 11 deputations today from organizations looking for grant money. This happens every year and the request for financial support will be deferred to the 2019 Budget and Business Plan deliberations.
The organizations making their pitch today include:
- Social Planning Council Oxford
- International Student Exchanges
- Woodstock Collegiate Institute Taiwanese Exchange
- Woodstock and Area Small Business Enterprise Centre
- Oxford County Plowmen's Association
- Oxford Creative Connections
- Oxford Physician Recruitment Group
- Oxford Connection
- Oxford Invitation Youth Robotics Challenge
- Oxford Workforce Development Partnership
- Upper Thames River Conservation Authority
- Long Point Region Conservation Authority
The presentations are expected to last through most of the day on Wednesday. Council will then defer the decisions to the budget process. Each organization is asking for County funding and the amounts vary based on needs.
